    This website is operated by Nathan Bourne, owner of “English Classes Nathan”, an online English teacher based in the United Kingdom. I am the data controller responsible for your personal data collected through this website and in connection with the online lessons I provide.     I may collect and process the following personal data:
    Your name, your email address, your time zone, booking details, payment confirmation information, records of our communication, and information you provide during lessons. I do not store or have access to your full payment card details.
  3. How Your Data Is Collected
    Your data may be collected when you: Book a lesson via Google Calendar, purchase lessons via Stripe, contact me by email or arrange recurring lessons directly.
  4. Payment Processing
    Payments are processed securely through Stripe. I do not store your card details. Stripe may collect and process your data in accordance with its own privacy policy. I recommend reviewing Stripe’s privacy policy for further information.
  5. How I Use Your Data
    Your personal data is used to: Schedule and deliver online lessons, communicate with you regarding lessons, process payments, maintain financial records for tax purposes and respond to enquiries.
  6. Legal Basis for Processing
    Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), the lawful bases relied upon are:
    Contract – to provide lessons you have booked
    Legal obligation – to comply with UK tax and accounting requirements
    Legitimate interests – to operate and improve my business
  7. Data Retention
    I retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined above. Financial records may be retained for up to 6 years in accordance with UK tax requirements. Other personal data will be deleted when no longer necessary for the provision of services.

    I take reasonable steps to protect your personal data and limit access to it. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
  9. Children
    My services are primarily intended for adults. If I provide lessons to individuals under the age of 18, parental or guardian consent will be required.
  10. Lesson Recording
    Lessons are not currently recorded. If recording is introduced in the future, explicit consent will be obtained before any recording takes place.
